Acknowledgement
Phra Ajahn Yantra Amaro Bhikkhu, our kind and respected teacher, has travelled widely throughout the world and has taught Dhamma to many people. Many of those he met and taught have wished to know more of his teaching, but there has been very little available for them to read. Early in 1991 I travelled with Phra Ajahn's group in Australia, and practised Dhamma with them. I also discovered that Phra Ajahn Yantra's teachings in Thai carry a far deeper meaning than his teachings in English, and so his English-speaking hearers miss part of his message. So at the end of Phra Ajahn's Dhamma trip, I decided to translate some of his teachings into English, so as to thank him for his patience, kindness, and inspiration, to pay my respect to him in a tangible way, and to help spread knowledge of the Dhamma.
I have chosen to translate - Noble Treasure - for he gave it to me on the day I left the group in Perth. The translation follows Phra Ajahn's words as closely as possible, but please forgive me if there are any errors. I thank Phra Ajahn for permission to do this translation, for it has given me a great deal of understanding of the Dhamma. I also thak my husband Alastair for his patience and help.
