The human body has 7 major Chakras:
In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “wheel” or “disc” and refers to the energy centers throughout the body. Those wheels of spinning energy connect to nerve bundles and organs.
Chakras need to stay open to function at their best. If they get blocked or unbalanced, you may experience physical or emotional sickness related to that particular chakra.
There are thousands of chakras throughout the body, however, there are 7 main chakras that run along the spine. They start at the root, or base, of your spine and extend to the crown of your head.
The root chakra locates at the perineal muscle (between anus and genital organ). It provides a foundation of life. Its function is to ground or to withstand challenges. Your root chakra is responsible for the sense of security and stability.
The sacral chakra locates 2 fingers below belly button. It is called ocean of power. It is responsible for energy build up and disperse energy throughout the body.
The solar plexus chakra locates in 3 fingers above belly button. It is responsible for confidence and self-esteem, as well as helping you feel in control of your life.
The heart chakra locates near the heart, in the center of chest. It gives you the ability to love and to show compassion.
The throat chakra locates in the throat. This chakra gives an ability to communicate verbally.
The third eye chakra locates between the eyes. It is responsible for intuition and imagination.
The crown chakra locates at the top of your head. It represents spiritual connection to oneself and the universe.
